Oakhaven HospiceĀ began lifeĀ as a charitable trust in the late 1980's when the land and original buildings were donated by Mrs Phoebe Coates in memory of her late husband, John.

Oakhaven's community based service was officially opened in 1992 by the Duchess of Kent. Since its foundation, our free of charge services have grown to provide comprehensive specialist palliative care to over 125,000 residents in the New Forest and Waterside area.

The vital services we provide in both the hospice and home setting are testimony to the generosity and vision of Mrs Coates. This, in addition to the hard work of key individuals in the early stages of this local project and the community's incredible coming together to support it, built the platform for the work that we do today that is so valued by patients, carers and families alike.

We are lucky and privileged to have this wonderful haven within our community.
