New Forest Food Fest

Saturday September 15 th marks the start of the New Forest Food Fest in aid of Oakhaven Hospice. The week long extravaganza of culinary delights has been formed to bring together local growers, producers and creators of fine food and sumptious dishes with the help of many supporting food establishments. Food glorious food is very much the focus of the event and is an ideal way to celebrate and discover the opportunities and can be presented on a plate, curtesy of independent pubs,restaurants, hotels and tea rooms. Three prominent chefs taking part in a spectacular "TAKE 3 CHEFS DINNER" at New Park Manor are Mark Speller head chef at the hotel, Paul Motram head chef at Thornbury Castle and Luke Richards head chef at Bishopstow House Hotel & Spa.

There are several different options planned for the discerning palate. Breakfast at Vanilla Pod Café, then taste the divine smoothies at Lounges, glorious fudge delights at Burley Fudge, enjoy a treasure hunt and meal with the East End Arms, coffee at Picolo Mundo or lunch at Stanwell House in Lymington. Or what better than to lunch at the world famous five star Chewton Glen Hotel . Several establishments including The Filly Inn, Forest Park Hotel, Lanes, Picolo Mundo and The Thatched Cottage Hotel & Restaurant in Brockenhurst have kindly agreed to contribute to the hospice by encouraging customers to " place a pound on the plate for Oakhaven " during the week long event.

Oakhaven Hospice supports not only at the Hospice but also out in the community. Our services are always free of charge. We support over 120 patients weekly and our Community Team make 2,500 home visits and telephone contacts each year. Our Bereavement team makes in excess of 1,600 contacts with the community every year while the Day Hospice has more than 1,200 attendances by patients annually.
