OAKHAVEN HOSPICE PRESS RELEASEApril 2007 Oakhaven Visitors - March 26 th 2007 Oakhaven Hospice has entertained two guests from overseas this past couple of weeks at their facility in Lower Pennington Lane. Karen Dendale from Antwerp is a Specialist Palliative Care nurse and is interested in " therapeutic touch" and palliative care for children. Lyan ( Ven Lyan Shih ) is a buddist nun, RGN and Midwife. Lyan is the founder and director of Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion in Pulao Pinang, Malaysia. She not only runs the administrative side of the hospice but also acts as spiritual counsellor to patients and families. Notes for Editors: Oakhaven Hospice supports not only at the Hospice but also out in the community. Our services are always free of charge. We support over 120 patients weekly and our Community Team make 2,500 home visits and telephone contacts each year. Our Bereavement team makes in excess of 1,600 contacts with the community every year while the Day Hospice has more than 1,200 attendances by patients annually.
