Businesses fundraise £5,500 for 'Oakhaven Neighbours'
Six local businesses have raised a total of almost £5,500 for our Oakhaven Neighbours programme.
Trained Oakhaven Neighbours volunteers provide Oakhaven patients who are navigating life-limiting conditions with a helping hand at home throughout our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities. Support ranges from running errands, picking up prescriptions and shopping, to walking the dog, helping out around the house or simply having a coffee and a friendly chat. This neighbourly help is invaluable to patients, who also appreciate the companionship.
Thank you to all six businesses for their fundraising efforts:
- Parker Bullen LLP raised £1,507.12 by holding a series of different fundraising activities across their four offices including a Halloween fancy dress competition, Christmas raffle and a 200-mile office 'cycleathon'.
- The Naked Quench in New Milton raised £1,431.00 from their annual Curry & Quiz night.
- Driving Miss Daisy Lymington raised £1,042.50 from a Red Arrows merchandise raffle and a Leap Lunch which saw clients and local businesses come together for a delicious lunch and a chance to socialise.
- Velair Group donated their £1,000.00.
- Diamond Accounting raised £268.50 from a Christmas raffle and the sale of hot chocolate cones, sweet cones and dog treats.
- KatherineB Work & Wellbeing raised £200.00 from a fashion workshop.
Natalie Hutchins, Corporate Fundraising Manager, said ‘’We are grateful to these companies, who took the time to support Oakhaven Hospice. The money they have raised will make a difference to Oakhaven patients throughout our communities."
2024 Business Enterprise Challenge
A Business Enterprise Challenge will be launched on 12th May, to coincide with International Nurses' Day. The objective is for local businesses to fundraise enough money between them to fund a specialist nurse for a whole year.
With the generous support of The Beaverbrook Foundation, Oakhaven's Business Enterprise Challenge tasks local businesses and organisations to take £100 and turn it into over £1,000 by 30th November 2024.
For more information and to register for the challenge, please contact Natalie Hutchins at business@oakhavenhospice.co.uk or call 01590 677773.
