Engaging with the community, or working with, talking to and involving people in our local area, is important to Oakhaven Hospice. It is important for two main reasons;
- To help people’s understanding of what it is that Hospices do, what we offer and how we can support people.
- To ensure that the services we offer meet the needs of those in our local community.
So, how do we do this at Oakhaven?
How we involve, talk to and work with the local community is always changing depending on the nature of the work involved. The Oakhaven Fundraising team, volunteers, education provision and aspects of the clinical care all involve talking to those in the local community and raising awareness of Hospices and end of life care. In addition to this, Oakhaven also has services, projects and works with others to share the hospice message and support those in the local area.
