Light up a Life
Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th December 2022

Light up a Life with Oakhaven this Christmas
Wherever you are, whomever you have lost and whenever it was, you are warmly invited to join with us as we cherish the memories of our loved ones.
Dedicate a light on our Oakhaven Tree of Remembrance, and join one of our Light up a Life services. This year we will be holding two Life up a Life services, the first at St Thomas Church, Lymington, on Monday 12th December and the second at St John's Church, Hythe, on Tuesday 13th September.
Light up a Life is Oakhaven’s annual service of remembrance and thanksgiving for the lives of loved ones we have lost. Traditionally the service has been attended by large numbers at St Thomas Church in Lymington, who typically find it a beautiful and uplifting occasion and pause for reflection before the Christmas season gets underway.
Everyone is welcome to join our 2022 Light up a Life Service
This is an opportunity for everyone in our community to come together to remember their loved ones. You do not have to have lost someone who was cared for at Oakhaven to participate.
The pandemic, particularly the separation from loved ones that it imposed, made many things particularly challenging. Christmas is always a poignant time to remember cherished ones who are no longer with us, however long ago we lost them.
So please, do join us!
More details about our Light up a Life services will be posted here nearer the time.
If you would like, you can also apply to receive a Light up a Life at Home pack, which includes the service programme, a pin badge, a keepsake to write a message on and hang in a special place and a candle. There is a charge of £2.95 to cover the postage

Make a dedication and "light up" a life
Dedications are recorded in the Book of Remembrance and included in the commemorative service programme which is printed ahead of the service. The service is always wonderful – filled with beautiful mainly Christmas music, with a number of excellent local choirs.
Everybody who wishes to join in is invited to make a dedication and to “light up” the life of the person whose life they would like to honour and remember.
Dedications are held in our book of remembrance that we keep on display in our in-patient unit.
