DO IT for OAKtober!
1st - 31st October 2023
This October do something different to make a difference.
OAKtober is a challenge for schools, businesses and members of our community to join us in fundraising throughout the month of October. The challenge is to do something different.
Could you dedicate a whole month to Oakhaven? Walk it, teach it, wear it, drink it or donate it, there are so many ways you can 'do it' for OAKtober. We challenge our whole community, schools and businesses to get involved and get fundraising - what will you do? Could you run, cycle or swim a mile a day? Host a coffee morning, cocktail night or cookery class? Can you give up your morning coffee or cup of tea? No challenge is too big or too small to have fundraising this October.
Help make every matter for those at end of life
OAKtober is your opportunity to raise funds for Oakhaven Hospice. All money raised will help local people during the most difficult of times. With only a small proportion of our costs funded by government sources, every donation makes a difference, enabling us to continue providing exceptional care, comfort and support to patients facing end of life and their loved ones, both within the Hospice itself and out in the New Forest, Totton and Waterside community.
Wear It Green Day
Get involved in our Wear It Green Day on Friday 20th October 2023! You could simply wear green eyeshadow, don your favourite green socks or be flamboyant in a green feather boa! Simply wear green and donate what you can.
If you can't make this date, simply pick another and let us know.
Local business? Why not get your colleagues involved in your own tea/coffee morning on Wear It Green Day - there is so much value in a good cuppa!
The Fire and Ice Finale
And if you can handle this, maybe you'll be ready to take on the ultimate challenge, a flaming finale to OAKtober! Join our Fire and Ice Walk on Wednesday 25th October, where the bravest souls (and bravest soles!) will walk over broken glass and hot coals in the October twilight.
Friends and family will be welcome come along to offer encouragement and celebrate your achievements. The minimum age to walk on the 'fire and ice' is 11 years - any brave soles over the age of 5 can take on the Lego Walk.
