In celebration of International Nurses' Day on Sunday 12th May, we are launching a new Business Enterprise Challenge. The objective is for businesses to raise enough money between them to fund a specialist nurse for a whole year.

With the generous support of The Beaverbrook Foundation, Oakhaven's Business Enterprise Challenge tasks local businesses and organisations to take £100 and turn it into over £1,000 by 30th November.

Participating businesses and organisations benefit from PR opportunities, exclusive events, special corporate discounts and a celebration event.

Can your business turn £100 into £1,000s?

Our thanks to The Beaverbrook Foundation, that has kindly supported our £100 challenge since 2015, inspiring local businesses to raise funds that enable us to extend our care and support.

How could your business help?

All the money raised from the challenge will help to fund an Oakhaven Nurse. It costs on average £38,460 per year for a Nurse to provide specialist care to Oakhaven patients.

Last year Oakhaven’s nurses cared for nearly 1,400 patients, both in the Hospice and in patients’ homes throughout the New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities. Demand for Oakhaven’s vital palliative and end-of-life services is constantly growing and to continue to meet the future needs of the community, additional nurses will be required.

By taking part in the Business Enterprise Challenge, you will help to ensure that Oakhaven’s dedicated and specialist nurses are there for patients and their loved ones at the most difficult of times. The challenge provides a great way to give back to your local community and to make a difference in the lives of local families. It is a great opportunity to build team spirit and be part of something special.

The Business Enterprise Challenge 2024 runs from the 12th May to 30th November.

Your team will receive £100 from The Beaverbrook Foundation to grow into at least £1,000. Use your imagination to raise as much money as possible. In January 2025 there will be a Celebration Event to thank you for all your hard work.

As well as raising money to fund an Oakhaven Hospice Nurse, the Business Enterprise Challenge provides many great benefits for your organisation, building team spirit, uniting colleagues and being part of something special. Business fundraising for Oakhaven Hospice

How you choose to fundraise is up to you. Suggestions include Wear Green days, cake sales and bake-off challenges, raffles, sponsored walks, and office sweepstakes… or you could enter individuals or a team into organised events.

A range of support materials will be available to help you meet your target and we will share your efforts on our website and social media to help you keep the momentum going.

Our dedicated Corporate Fundraising Manager will be working alongside you throughout your challenge to encourage your business and offer support and ideas to help you maximise your fundraising efforts.
