Remember someone special
Donate or fundraise in memory of a loved one
Many people like to donate or fundraise in memory of a loved one and we would like to support you by providing advice, information and the materials you might need.
Celebrating the life of a loved one through fundraising is an incredible way to remember someone special and leave a lasting legacy in their name. Raising funds for Oakhaven can be a fitting way to honour your loved one and create a legacy by supporting other families who are facing end of life within our community.
Choose the ways that suit you, your family and your friends from the suggestions below. We are always incredibly touched and grateful to receive these donations.
Ways to donate and fundraise in memory of a loved one
Dedicate a leaf on The Tree of Life
The Tree of Life forms an integral part of Oakhaven's beautiful gardens. Crafted by Hampshire-based artist blacksmith, Andy Hopper, the stylised oak tree, forged from steel, reaches 8 feet into the air creating branches from which dedicated leaves are hung.
Each leaf is unique and is ready for your own personalised engraved dedication. The Chaplains at Oakhaven would be delighted to hold a special service with you, your family and friends to place it on the tree, or you can do this at a time that holds special meaning for you. Once its time on the tree has passed, the leaf will be returned to you in a presentation box, a lasting memorial to keep and treasure.
Create an online tribute
A tribute fund is a long-lasting online memorial that you can create to remember someone special. It offers a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a loved one. You can set up a tribute site to share special memories, photos, music and videos with friends and family; find comfort through lighting a candle or adding a thoughtful gift.
The website Much Loved enables you to set up a tribute page linked to Oakhaven Hospice Trust, so that you can use your tribute page to raise vital funds to support Oakhaven.
MuchLoved is a UK registered charity and the tribute service is completely free for you to use.
Create an online funeral notice
The website Much Loved enables you to set up a funeral notice as part of a tribute page. If you like, the funeral notice can be hidden later, to make your tribute page a long-lasting memorial.
Share practical arrangements for the day of the funeral, including a printable map and directions. As an online facility, those not attending the service can still leave messages of condolence, share memories and donate.

Become a Moment Maker
In giving a regular donation to support Oakhaven Hospice, Oakhaven Moment Makers are giving special and meaningful moments to local families facing death or the death of a loved one, creating treasured memories in the toughest of times.
It costs over £8 million to run Oakhaven each year and only 11% of this is covered by the NHS. Giving monthly helps secure the hospice into the future, bringing continuous comfort, care, and much-needed and deserved joy to someone at the end of life, as well as support for their loved ones.
Light up a Life in Memory
Dedicate a light on our Light up a Life Remembrance Tree during the festive period.
Light up a Life is Oakhaven’s annual service of remembrance and thanksgiving for the lives of loved ones we have lost. Traditionally services have been attended by large numbers, who typically find it a beautiful and uplifting occasion and pause for reflection before the Christmas season gets underway.
Wherever you are, whomever you have lost and whenever it was, you are warmly invited to join us as we cherish the memories of our loved ones.
Gift to Oakhaven in your will
By making a gift in your will to Oakhaven Hospice, you will help local families in the future to be supported from diagnosis, through end of life and in bereavement for those that remain. A gift in your will doesn't have to be large, it will make a difference no matter its size.
Leaving a lasting legacy to Oakhaven in this way ensures we will be able to continue caring for those in our community when they need us most. Your gift will help us to make every moment matter at the most difficult of times.
