How your fundraising will help...
Your sponsorship will make a difference
If you would like to fundraise online, you could set up a JustGiving page - click here to get started. If you prefer a traditional paper sponsor form, you can download a sponsor form here.
All funds raised from The Oakhaven Walk will help local people during the most difficult of times. With only a small proportion of our costs funded by government sources, every donation makes a difference, enabling us to continue providing exceptional care, comfort and support to patients facing end of life and their loved ones, both within the Hospice itself and out in the New Forest, Totton and Waterside community.

The Oakhaven Walk - Frequently asked questions
Do you provide transport to the start of the walk at Sandbanks?
Yes, if you are taking on the 26-mile route, you can pay extra to get a coach transfer from Oakhaven Hospice to Sandbanks. This allows you to park your car at Oakhaven, so it’s there for you once you have finished your challenge. The coach will depart Oakhaven Hospice at 7:15am and aim to reach Sandbanks by 8am, so you can collect your t-shirt and get ready to set off at 8:30am.
Please note: If you choose the 14 or 8-mile options, you will need to make your own way to your start points.
Is there a minimum age requirement to enter the event?
Yes, the minimum age is 8 years old and children aged between 8 and 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Is the route signposted?
Yes. You are following the coastal path but we have marshals at key points to direct you.
Are refreshments provided on route?
Yes, there are check-in points at Mudeford Quay and Barton-on-Sea where water is provided as well as a comfort stop. Plus at Mudeford (the halfway point for those completing the 26-mile route) food and refreshments will be provided.
What do I need to wear?
Good, well-worn-in walking boots are recommended, along with a light rucksack to bring waterproofs just in case!
Are dogs allowed on the walk?
Yes, dogs are permitted on the walk, but please obey local bylaws and keep your dog on a lead where indicated.
Do I need to keep up with everyone?
No, everyone will walk at their own pace - why not enlist a friend to chat to? The achievement is finishing, it is not a race. If you’re not used to walking we highly recommend that you train and get some miles into your legs between registering and the actual walk.
