Oakhaven Hospice Volunteer Survey
Oakhaven Hospice Volunteer Survey
Dear Volunteers,
We are extremely grateful for the support you all give us as volunteers and really value your input. I hope you may be able to spare a few minutes to give us your feedback on a few simple questions below.
As you are probably aware, just a small proportion of Oakhaven’s annual running costs are covered by the NHS. We have been exploring ways in which we can look to grow our income beyond traditional fundraising. Shops were our first step into trading income and that has now grown into an extremely important and significant form of regular income, producing around £650,000 every year to support our work. We then developed Oakhaven Care, our home care provider, as a commercial income stream and that has now contributed over £1 million to support the work of the Hospice.
Last summer we conducted a community engagement survey to ask our community what was important to them in end of life care. One question we asked as part of this was … “if you can afford it would you be happy to pay for some of your hospice services” … 75% of people replying said they would be.
In light of this feedback we are currently looking at other areas that we might be able to develop to generate income for the Hospice. We would really appreciate your feedback in relation to this and would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to answer the questions below.
It is important to stress that these are just early thoughts, and no decisions have been made about which or any services we may try to introduce. As one of our volunteers can I thank you for helping us with your feedback and thoughts.
