Pennyfarthing becomes headline sponsor of The Oakhaven Walk
Oakhaven Hospice is delighted to announce Pennyfarthing Homes as the headline sponsor of the 2024 Oakhaven Walk, taking place on Saturday 18th May.
The fundraising walk, where participants choose to walk to Oakhaven from Sandbanks (26 miles), Mudeford (14 miles) or Barton on Sea (8 miles), is a highlight in the Oakhaven fundraising events calendar.
Andrew Ryde, Oakhaven’s Chief Executive, said: “We are extremely grateful to Pennyfarthing Homes for agreeing to support our annual walk again this year. Sponsorship helps to cover the costs of the event, meaning that every penny fundraised by walk participants will directly support the care and support that Oakhaven provides to patients and their loved ones, throughout our Lymington, Totton and Waterside communities.”
Pennyfarthing Owner and Director, Danny Adams, will embark on the journey from Sandbanks to Oakhaven Hospice alongside his family, striding out to cover 26 miles with beautiful views of the Dorset coastline. Other spirited members of the Pennyfarthing team will be walking the 8 miles from Barton on Sea.
Danny said: “We are thrilled to once again extend our sponsorship and participation in the Oakhaven Hospice annual fundraising walk. We hope our endeavours will help raise awareness and spotlight the remarkable efforts of this charity, which works tirelessly to alleviate suffering and provide solace to patients and their families during challenging times.
“Oakhaven Hospice provides the most incredible care and support to individuals nearing the end of their lives, ensuring dignity and comfort through this difficult time. They work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life, creating a peaceful environment for the patients to spend their last days with the people they love.”
Danny and other members of the Pennyfarthing Homes family have firsthand experience of the incredible work that Oakhaven Hospice carries out in the community. They have personally witnessed the compassionate care provided by the Hospice for their own family members and close friends during their final days.
