Local schools raised £2,379 during 'Oaktober'
During the month of October, a number of local schools held fundraising events for Oakhaven Hospice, as part of 'Oaktober', raising in total a fabulous £2,379.09.
Children across our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities wore green to school in exchange for a donation, with some schools also holding a 'Care for a Cuppa' fundraising coffee morning or afternoon tea event.
The schools that took part included Ashley Junior School, Ballard School, Beaulieu Village Primary School, Lymington Junior School, Milford CE Primary School, Noadswood Secondary School, Pennington Infant School, Pennington CE Junior School and William Gilpin CE Primary School.
Hannah Davies, Community Fundraiser at Oakhaven Hospice, said: "Many thanks to all the local schools who took part in Oaktober this year. We are thrilled that this year we have seen even more schools helping to raise vital funds for Oakhaven. Every penny helps to make a difference for local families facing the unimaginable."
