Oakhaven Care receives Award of Excellence for Homecare Provider 2025

Huge congratulations to Oakhaven Care, our social enterprise, for being presented with the Award of Excellence for Homecare Provider 2025 by E2 Media.

Choosing the right care provider is a massive decision that a lot of families experience. It can be incredibly difficult to make sure you choose the best solution for yourself or your loved one. Knowing that you or your loved ones will be happy and safe in the hands of a care provider is ultimately one of the most important things we take into consideration.

Oakhaven Care is no ordinary home care provider. The team has been providing home care to residents in the New Forest, Waterside and Totton communities for over twelve years, supporting people in their own homes with a range of visiting and live-in home care services, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.

Oakhaven Care Ltd is a social enterprise, wholly owned by Oakhaven Hospice, and uniquely 100% of any profits made by Oakhaven Care are donated to support the work of the Hospice, rather than lining the pockets of investors. In this way, Oakhaven Care supports not just their clients, but also the hospice care needs of those in the community with terminal or life-limiting conditions.

Award of Excellence for Homecare Provider 2025

E2 Media has recently unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Awards of Excellence, which spotlight outstanding achievements across various industries. Among the distinguished winners is Oakhaven Care Ltd, which has been awarded ‘Homecare Provider of the Year’.

Louise Slattery from E2 Media stated, “Oakhaven Care’s exceptional dedication to providing unparalleled service has set them apart, earning them the recognition and admiration of their industry peers and their community. This accolade highlights Oakhaven Care’s commitment to excellence and the consistent efforts to go above and beyond in ensuring a positive and seamless experience for their clients.

“This Award of Excellence also recognises Oakhaven Care’s unique contribution to the funding of the Oakhaven Hospice charity.

“We think it’s important to recognise organisations bringing something new and innovative to their marketplace. They don’t have to be the biggest; however, they have to be an organisation that is trying to offer something different from what is already out there. Above all, they must provide a great product and service. We feel that Oakhaven Care Ltd ticks all the boxes and is a worthy winner of our award.”

Home care that makes a difference

Many of Oakhaven Care’s clients could be described as vulnerable and require various levels of care, which could include regular care visits, respite care, convalescent care, live-in care and palliative care. The team supports clients with daily tasks such as personal care, medication, preparing meals and fluids, help in the home, nighttime care, getting to appointments, and much more, including, importantly, companionship to combat isolation.

Being able to continue to live in their home environment whilst receiving an outstanding level of care allows people to retain a level of independence, and also crucially, it enables them to continue living a happy and fulfilling life in the familiar surroundings they know and love, close to family, friends, their community and, if they have them, their pets.

Another thing that distinguishes Oakhaven Care Ltd from its peers is that it really does see clients as individuals, and as such, no two care plans are ever the same. Oakhaven Care is committed to finding the best and most cost-effective way of meeting the client’s needs and aspirations, which will form the basis of their personalised care plan.

First-class care in your own home - with close links to Oakhaven Hospice

Oakhaven Care works closely with Oakhaven Hospice. All Oakhaven Community Care Assistants are fully trained and have the skills and knowledge required to offer the best level of care. The staff go that extra mile and value the connections they have with their clients.

Erica Longyear, Managing Director of Oakhaven Care, explains, “Over the past twelve years, Oakhaven Care has grown from a small team to now employing over sixty carers. We are all passionate about providing the very best standard of personalised care for all our clients.

“Carers and clients alike, we are very proud of the contribution we make towards our local hospice charity. Just a small proportion of Oakhaven Hospice’s costs are covered by the government, and therefore, in donating all our profits, we are helping to provide hospice care for our whole community.”

Andrew Ryde, Chief Executive of Oakhaven Hospice, said, "We'd like to wholeheartedly congratulate everyone at Oakhaven Care for achieving this recognition. The team works hard to provide first-class home care, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism and training at all times. Oakhaven Care is very much a part of the Oakhaven family, we are immensely proud of the outstanding service they provide to clients, the excellent camaraderie within the team and the contribution they provide to support the Hospice each year. Well done everyone!"
