For nearly 30 years, John D Wood & Co. has been a proud supporter of Oakhaven Hospice. This year, their partnership reaches a meaningful milestone, with donations now exceeding £30,000 — a true reflection of the estate agency’s long-standing commitment to local hospice care.

Oakhaven Hospice, based in Lymington, provides vital specialist care for patients facing life-limiting illness and support for their loved ones. The charity relies heavily on donations and local fundraising to continue its compassionate services, making the consistent support from John D Wood & Co. both meaningful and impactful.

Each year, the firm sponsors two of Oakhaven's most anticipated community events: the Oakhaven Family Fun Day in June, and the Oakhaven Santa Dash in December. These annual fixtures have become cherished traditions, drawing residents together in the spirit of generosity and community celebration. Whether it’s cheering on participants in festive costumes at the Santa Dash or enjoying games and activities during the summer fun day, John D Wood & Co.'s support has helped to keep these events thriving year after year.

Event sponsorship - helping Oakhaven to cover costs

The partnership between John D Wood & Co. and Oakhaven Hospice serves as a powerful example of long-term corporate support making a tangible difference. Sponsorship helps Oakhaven to cover some of the inevitable costs of its fundraising events, ensuring that the money raised by participants and supporters goes further to help provide hospice care for local families.

Although Oakhaven provides hospice care free of charge, a mere 11% of its costs are covered by the NHS. For the remainder it relies on the generosity of donations, fundraising, gifts in wills, business support and income from its shops and social enterprise, the home care provider Oakhaven Care Ltd.

As they look to the future, John D Wood & Co. remains committed to continuing their support, helping Oakhaven grow and reach even more families in need.
