Oakhaven Lyndhurst shop opening

A new Oakhaven Hospice shop for Lyndhurst

On Wednesday 19th November, Oakhaven Hospice opened a new charity shop at 38-40 Lyndhurst High Street.

Oakhaven Lyndhurst has been highly anticipated and is the hospice’s tenth charity shop, joining the shops in Hythe, Totton, New Milton and Lymington. Each is an ‘Aladdin’s cave’ filled with real treasures and the ultimate in recycling and sustainable shopping.

The new shop stocks preloved ladieswear and menswear - including a designer section with at least 75% off original selling prices! There is also a homeware section and a children’s department - crammed with clothes, accessories, toys, games and children’s books. The shop is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The Lyndhurst shop was opened officially by Melville Kendal, Chair of the Oakhaven Board of Trustees, who said, “It’s a delight to be able to open a shop here in Lyndhurst, I’d like to thank to everyone who has helped to make it possible. I’m sure this new shop will be a great addition to what is an important contribution towards funding Oakhaven Hospice. All profits from our shops go straight to the Hospice and without that retail income, Oakhaven Hospice would really struggle. I wish the team of staff and volunteers the very best for the future.”

Andrew Ryde, Chief Executive of Oakhaven, said, “Thank you to everyone who donates items for us to sell in our shops and to everyone who supports us with purchases. As a charity, only 11% of Oakhaven’s costs are covered by the NHS. Your support helps to fund vital end-of-life care for patients and specialist support for their families and loved ones - free of charge - when they need it most. Oakhaven’s care and support extends throughout our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities.”

Oakhaven welcomes your donations of items for the charity shops; anything that can be carried in a box or a bag can be taken to any of the Oakhaven shops during opening hours. For larger items or to organise a collection, please click here for details, or call 01590 637781.

Oakhaven volunteers receive a twenty per cent discount in the Oakhaven shops!
