Susie's marathon Santa Dash Challenge!
Susie Kyd has multiple sclerosis (MS) and will be using walking sticks participate in Santa Dash at her own speed and in her own time. She is hoping to fundraise lots of money for Oakhaven Hospice.
“I’m taking part in the Oakhaven Santa Dash 2025. I had planned on doing it when I turned 50 in 2020 - but then a massive multiple sclerosis (MS) relapse that year stopped that happening - having had MS since 1995 with very few problems.
I now need 2 sticks to walk, and that’s with difficulty. So I’m not expecting to do this fast. I imagine I may be the last past the finishing line, but I’m walking it with great friends and Ed my partner - and a wheelchair in case I need to sit for a minute or two on the way (The joy of MS - and now inflammatory arthritis in addition)
These 3kms will be like walking a marathon for me - how different from the treks I used to do not so long ago, so any donation you give will be very gratefully received and will spur me on on the day in my Santa suit! Thank you so much.” - Susie
Recognising this incredible undertaking, Susie’s employer, Tokio Marine Kiln, has pledged to match-fund her fundraising up to the value of £5,000.
We hope you’ll join us in applauding Susie on her Santa Dash challenge! If you would like support Susie with a donation, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/page/susan-kyd-1761975795225.
